Library Services for Virginia State University Faculty: Assistance

Reference Service

The Circulation Department (Information Desk) provides users with contact-free checkout/check-in of materials. Reference and research assistance are available in person and via online service tools such as email refdesk@vsu.edu and Ask-A-Librarian as well as by phone (804.524.5582). Library Instruction reservations can be made online or by contacting Darnell Law via email dlaw@vsu.edu or by phone (804.524.5536). Interlibrary Loan requests may be submitted online from the Interlibrary Loan link under the Services tab on the Library’s webpage (https://vsu.illiad.oclc.org/illiad/logon.html).

Public computers are available on the first and second floors of the Library and in the Computer Lab located on the basement level of the Library. The Library Training Center is available to faculty and staff by reservation (http://vsu.libcal.com/booking/trainingcenter). Individual and group study rooms are located on the basement level, second and third floors and are available by reservation (http://vsu.libcal.com/booking/privatestudy). The Library Conference Room is available for faculty and staff by reservation via phone (804.524.6811).

Special Collections and University Archives at Lindsay-Montague Hall is temporarily closed to the general public; however special accommodations are made for VSU faculty, staff, students, and affiliates to have limited access to materials in that collection. Special Collections reference and research assistance requests may be submitted via online service tools (Ask-A-Librarian), email at refdesk@vsu.edu, or by phone at (804.524.5582). Information Desk staff will contact you to set up an appointment to use the requested materials.
