Did you know that you can easily find resources cited in an article by using the red down arrow when viewing the record?
Expand My Results lets you search for resources that are not in the library’s collection, which can be used for an interlibrary loan request, for example.
Request an item through The Fountain!
Did you know that you can place a request for a book in the Library’s collection? You can pick up a requested book from the collection at University Libraries' Information Desk.
First, log in using your VSU ID when you first get to The Fountain. Click the "Sign in" button at the top-right of the opening page.
After you search and find the book you need, click on the title of that book to open the "record view" (pictured below). Scroll down until you find the REQUEST section, and click the first link that says Request.
*Note: We have a setting where the request button only shows up if the item is checked out, since we don't allow requests for items available on the shelf.
A new box will appear with more options. The first drop-down box indicates Terms of Use. Books requested through this system will be set aside at the library's Information Desk.
This tells the system that you only need the item until a particular date (such as for a class assignment). After this date has passed, the request will be deactivated by the system
When the requested book is ready for you to pick up, you will receive an email from the library.
