Government Information

Agricultural Network Information Center.  Developed by the National Agricultural Library and maintained by NAL, land-grant universities, and others.

AGRIS.  This database was created by FAO in 1974 to facilitate information exchange and to identify world literature dealing with all aspects of agriculture.  Particularly strong in literature of developing countries.  Covers 1974 to the present.

Animal & Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS).   APHIS provides leadership for determining standards of humane care and treatment of animals. APHIS implements those standards and achieves compliance through inspection, education, and cooperative efforts.

Animal Welfare Information Center.  The Animal Welfare Information Center (AWIC) is part of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) National Agricultural Library (NAL) in Beltsville, Maryland.   The primary purpose of the center is to prevent animal suffering and prevent duplication of research on animals.

Current Research Information System.  A searchable database of U.S. Department of Agriculture  funded research.  Search by keyword, investigator, agency, institution, and project status.
