The Johnston Memorial Library building will open to the VSU Community on January 19, 2021 with extra precautions, reduced staff, and limited hours. From January 19-29, 2021, the library building will close at 5:00 PM. Face masks and social distancing will be required for students, faculty and staff.

Friday: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

The Circulation Department will provide users with contact-free checkout of materials. Users who are unable to be present on campus are encouraged to use the online service tools such as email@example.com, Ask-A-Librarian, Text-A-Librarian and phone requests (804.524.5582) to communicate with librarians and receive assistance. Out of an abundance of caution, the individual study rooms, group study rooms, conference rooms, basement computer lab and library stacks will be closed to users. Public computers will be available on the first and second floors of the library by reservation only.
While the Lindsay-Montague Hall building will remain closed; there will be limited access to the Special Collections & Archives materials and collections. Access will be restricted to VSU students, faculty and staff by appointment only on Tuesdays from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM; and Thursdays from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM. Reference and research assistance will continue to be available via the online service tools.
