Access to the web version of SciFinder Scholar is available to Virginia State University faculty, students, and staff. You must be on-campus to register for SciFinder Scholar.
To use SciFinder Scholar you must register online at the SciFinder Scholar User Registration website to create your SciFinder Scholar username and password. You will need to provide contact information. It is recommended that you use your Virginia State University e-mail address as your user name. Your password must contain 7-15 characters and include at least three of the following: letters, mixed upper and lowercase letters, numbers, and non-alphanumeric characters. You will be prompted to select a security question from the drop-down menu and provide the answer.
A message will indicate that you will receive an e-mail from Chemical Abstract Service (CAS) at the address you provided during registration. This e-mail from CAS will include a link and instructions to complete the registration. You must click-on the link within 48 hours. Otherwise, you will need to start the registration process again.
At the completion of your registration, click-on SciFinder Scholar.
